Florey.
My current work, is the product of over 20 years of experimentation. These slip-cast porcelain(^6 oxidation) light sculptures are all unique, some are sculpted heavily after coming out of the mold but all are sanded and refined. This part of the process imparts a finger print, subtle texture designed for those who interact with them to be drawn in by the fine detail, encouraging a more intimate relationship and experience with the object.
These light sculptures are designed to stand on their own as floor, table, or pendant lamps. However when they are grouped together, filling a space, forcing interaction with the viewer they create an immersive, and ephemeral sensory experience that I find very exciting artistically.
Over the years my working process has changed greatly. I have tried however, to maintain a through line in my various bodies of work, a sculptural vocabulary/ esthetic.
